German Space Agency at DLR

Acting on behalf of the Federal Government, German Space Agency at DLR designs and implements Germany’s Space Program, which integrates all German space activities on the national and European plane. The German Space Agency at DLR on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has started the initiative INNOspace® to promote innovations, technology transfer and new markets.

German ESA Business Incubation Centers

The ESA Business Incubation Centres (BICs) in  Bavaria & Northern Germany, Hesse & Baden-Wurttemberg offer the only start-up programme in Germany that promotes company foundations based on technology transfers from and into the space sector from the initial phase up to the marketable product. In close collaboration with renowned partners the programme supports young companies for a period of up to two years. The start-ups receive financial and technical support as an incentive.

„The catalouge „Deutsche Raumfahrtakteure“, published by German Space Agency at DLR, presents a comprehensive overview of competences, technologies, products and services of the German space industry. In its first edition, about 600 players of the German space sector are listed. Besides companies, the catalogue includes universities, research institutions, networks, incubators and public organisations. Especially for players outside the aerospace industry, this overview can be useful to identify potential collaboration partners within the space sector.”

Founded in 1998, the Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance (BBAA) includes over 100 members from aerospace companies, research institutions and universities. The BBAA has been an associated member of Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie (BDLI) since September 2004 and represents the interests of the organisations in the Berlin-Brandenburg region with regard to the BDLI.

BioRegio STERN Management GmbH is an economic developer for the life sciences sector. It promotes innovations and startups on behalf of the public sector and thus helps to strengthen the region. It is the central point of contact for founders and entrepreneurs in the Stuttgart and Neckar-Alb regions and the cities of Tübingen and Reutlingen. The STERN BioRegion is one of the largest and most successful BioRegions in Germany. Its unique selling points are the nationally unique mixture of biotech and medtech companies as well as the regional clusters for automation technology and mechanical and plant engineering.

In the age of electromobility and IT logistics, we work with our partners and members to find intelligent answers to upcoming social and technological challenges. We support you in securing existing competitive advantages and creating new ones. Through broad networking, mediation of project partners, contacts to international networks and the initiation and promotion of research projects, we sustainably shape the innovation fields of mobility and logistics. The Cluster Mobility & Logistics is a project of R-Tech GmbH and is located in the TechBase Regensburg.

Founded in 2005, the Forum Aerospace Baden-Württemberg (LR BW) includes about 100 members and is the nodal point between industry, science, politics and society. 15.000 persons in total work in institutions associated with LR BW. The gross revenue is around 4.8 billion Euros annually. The strength of the Baden-Wuerttemberg aerospace industry relates to the extended supply chain:  from screws up to satellite. On average, the Baden-Wuerttemberg aerospace industry invests 17.5 per cent of its turnover on research and development. With initiatives like „From Baden-Wuerttemberg into Space“ we spark interest in young people to become new talents for aerospace. Further initiatives aim to initiate projects to promote regional innovators.

eMove360° Europe 2019 (15-17 October 2019) is the biggest specialised fair for connected and autonomous driving, mobility 4.0 and electromobility worldwide. The fair presents the whole variety of future-oriented and sustainable mobility solutions from urban and mobile design, material and process solutions, autonomous driving and electronics to infotainment. What’s more, you can apply for the eMove360° Award until 30 June 2019. Awards will be presented to products and services relating to electromobility and autonomous driving during the fair.

The German Aviation Innovation Award (IDL) bundles the innovative power of companies and start-ups in the context of aviation, Industry 4.0 and the digital economy. The focus lies on active promotion and the creation of a dedicated platform for the innovators. In this way, the aim is to develop and promote a new common understanding of where and how innovations in aviation will emerge in the future.

In March 2021, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia launched AeroSpace.NRW – a network for the aerospace industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. There are many institutions and companies in NRW that have a significant influence on developments in the industry. The aim of the network is to increase the innovative strength and competitiveness of NRW’s economy in the aerospace sector by facilitating cooperation between companies, research institutions, politics and society in order to create jobs and develop sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies.

The NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonics.NRW state cluster is a public service body, set up as part of the excellence initiative organised by the North Rhine-Westphalia state government. NMWP.NRW aims at consolidating NRW’s excellent position in the field of key enabling technologies (KETs).

The cluster represents the interests of its stakeholders and acts as a network for organizations from industry, science and politics in the field of key enabling technologies. The cluster links the science and industry to strengthen technology transfer, innovativeness and competitiveness.

P3 group provides integrated consulting and engineering services from a single source, e.g. in the aviation, automotive, telecommunication and energy sector. The key competencies are digitization, engineering, project management services, strategy and process consulting, technology consulting and testing. P3 has a profound understanding of innovative technologies and vast experience in successfully developing complex technical products. P3 employs more than 4.000 engineers, economists, scientists and technicians at 45 locations in 15 countries.

The Thuringian Renewable Energies Network (ThEEN e.V.) is the expert network for renewable energy, energy storage, energy efficiency and sector coupling, based in Erfurt. The network has more than 70 members from economic, science and public institutions and represents and draws upon the expertise of more than 300 companies through its sector associations, such as “Working Group of the Thuringia Hydroelectric Power Plants”, “German Wind Energy Association”, and “Geothermal Association”.
