MERIT – Disruptives Antriebssystem für Mikrosatelliten

Miniaturisierte Satelliten werden immer häufiger eingesetzt. Um unterschiedliche Missionsszenarien zu ermöglichen, benötigen Satellitenplattformen, die so klein wie CubeSats sind, kleine, vielseitig nutzbare, kostengünstige und zuverlässige Antriebssysteme. Da herkömmliche Antriebssysteme zu teuer und zudem nicht ausreichend entwickelt sind, startete T4i das Projekt MERIT, bei dem das selbst entwickelte REGULUSAntriebssystem hinsichtlich Kosten und Leistung verbessert wird. Basierend auf einer Helicon-Plasma-Technologie nutzt das System außerdem einen modularen Ansatz, Lieferketten außerhalb des Luft- und Raumfahrtsektors sowie eine intelligente Übernahme von additiven Technologien. Zu den Hauptzielkunden von MERIT zählen Hersteller von Kleinsatellitenplattformen (bis zu 150 kg). T4i plant nicht nur das Antriebssystem für Satelliten bereitzustellen, sondern auch potenzieller Partner zu werden. Die Technologie ist auch in anderen Bereichen einsetzbar, wie zum Beispiel bei medizinischen und industriellen Anwendungen und bei der Entwicklung intelligenter Plasmaantennen.
